2010-10-25 [hanhepi]: i would have done a digital print, then laminate, but my printer is DOA. my next idea was to hand draw, but i'm too shakey lately for that ("um, yes Flisk, i swear that squiggle is a dragon!") , so i'm working with fabric arts.

i thought melting crayon into the fabric was a promising idea (and a great way to use some dead crayons!), but after experimentation, i still cant get enough crayon OUT of the fabric so as not to be drawing in the book when you use it. lol. not the type of book mark i wanted at all. (but the marks were pretty!!)

Are you going to let people who failed to send their bookmark enter later rounds? According to that list there are four people who haven't received their bookmark, six who have. That's not a great success rate. <_<

I think at least 2 bookmarks have gone missing in the mail. I'm not sure if [nehirwen] received one in the mail but there is a picture of it in the gallery.

Alternatively everyone could just add their names to a list and people can just pick someone to make a bookmark for, that way everyone does it all themselves.

Ensuring everyone gets a bookmark is just ensuring that it IS fun for everyone. People tend to not find it quite so fun if they never get anything.

Then with all due respect, maybe you just don't actually have time to run it? :/ When I run the Secret Santa each year I make sure everyone who makes a present gets a present in return. I have a small group of volunteers, including myself, who are all prepared to make a second entry to ensure that no one is left out, and anyone who fails to submit their entry is barred from entering the next year. 

If doing it digitally only is the best way to ensure more people get their bookmark, then go for it.
